This Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition plays by its own rules and captivates with its fresh, unconventional look. The domed dial features a colour scheme that has inspired album covers, band names and song titles since the 1960s – a rich shade of purple, with a subtle embossed finish that lends it visual depth. A breathable black textile strap rounds off the watch’s casual character. As an annual edition, this model from the Vintage Collection is a limited-time release and is produced in only a small number of pieces.

This mechanical timepiece with a retro look is a real eye-catcher thanks to its striking purple colour. The dial blank is first embossed to create its exquisite texture, then domed and coated in yellow gold. Next, a touch of colour is added with transluscent violet lacquer. The indexes are then carefully cut into the surface, revealing the dial’s base material: warm, shimmering bronze. In several stages, the numerals and logo are printed on and fired in a kiln, before a steady hand finally applies the luminous dots.

The intricately handcrafted dial demands a fitting setting, provided by a polished stainless steel case measuring 42 mm in diameter: its slightly domed sapphire crystal, with anti-reflective coating on both sides, reduces light reflection and offers a clear view of the dial. The gold-plated minute and second hands follow the curve of the crystal, ensuring that the time can always be read accurately and without optical distortion when viewed from above. Thanks to Super-LumiNova®, all three hands perform this function even in the dark.

At the heart of the watch, the automatic calibre 39-34 ensures a precise beat. It reliably drives the hour, minute and small seconds hands, as well as the stop-second hand and the chronograph’s 30-minute counter. Numerous components and traditional finishes bear witness to authentic German watchmaking craftsmanship: the Glashütte three-quarter plate with its accurate stripe finish, the skeletonised rotor with the double G symbol and 21-carat gold oscillating weight, the elegant swan-neck fine adjustment, and the perfectly bevelled edges and polished screws.
