From Florence to Vancouver, founder Pasquale Cusano brings passion for original design, quality craftsmanship and personal service to Montecristo’s Vancouver workshop and boutiques.

Our Story

Featuring unique gold jewellery with traditional European designs, Montecristo Jewellers opened its first storefront in April 1978 at Victoria Drive & East 41st Street in Vancouver.

Founder Pasquale Cusano, wanting to present customers with the highest quality products and service at an affordable price, sourced superior 18-karat gold from Italy several times a year. Offering a purer alloy of gold previously unknown in Vancouver, he spent much time educating customers on its many advantages, establishing Montecristo Jewellers’ status in the community.

This stellar reputation soon attracted the attention of the world’s finest watch brands. Montecristo Jewellers became an Official Rolex Retailer in 1979, with other prestigious brands to follow, such as Blancpain, Breguet, and more. 

Pursuing the desire to create only the best and original jewellery, several workbenches were added two years later, and the most gifted goldsmiths worldwide were commissioned.

Adopting the ancient and increasingly rare method of true handcraftsmanship, Montecristo’s master jewellers designed and created original heirloom jewellery that could be cherished for many lifetimes. They selected and set exceptional gemstones, polishing each piece to perfection. From statement to everyday pieces, Montecristo’s craftsmanship allowed for complete customization of any design or style.  

Today, with three boutiques serving Greater Vancouver, Montecristo Jewellers remains the home of genuinely handcrafted jewellery. It creates an array of celebrated signature designs complemented by exquisite timepieces from respected industry leaders.
