Glashutte Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase 40mm Watch

The stainless steel case of this new version has a diameter of 40 mm and is perfectly polished and satin-finished. The timelessly elegant watch is optionally available with a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap, a robust blue synthetic strap or a sporty stainless steel bracelet with a fine adjustment mechanism. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal case back allows a clear view of the elaborately finished automatic Calibre 36.

The handmade dial in the shade “Frosted Silver” is inspired by the rich mineral deposits of the Ore Mountains, while their fine-grained surface texture makes one feel the cold deep within the rock. The Roman numerals, applied by hand, are made of solid gold and coated in blue. They are a perfect complement to the blued and polished poire hands and the second hand with its double-G symbol.

At Glashütte Original, the moon disc is also manufactured in-house and largely by hand. In this Senator Excellence Panorama Date moon phase, it is made of German silver and galvanised blue. Two round moons are then carefully diamond-turned, giving them their curved shape and lustre. Although the moon disc has two moons, the cut-out in the dial means that only one moon is shown at a time in its various phases.

Beauty, stability and precision were the guiding principles in the development of the Calibre 36. The extra-large spring barrel was specially designed to enable a running time of at least 100 hours. Resistant to magnetic fields, corrosion and fluctuating temperatures, the silicon balance spring offers reliable precision in everyday life.
