The Glashutte Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase mechanical timepiece is presented in a 40 mm stainless steel case. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal case back offers fascinating insights into the finely finished Calibre 36 automatic movement.
The round, 40 mm diameter stainless steel case with its slender bezel as well as its satin-finished and polished surfaces serves as an elegant frame and a fundamental support. An innovative bayonet mount allows the movement to be fixed in the case with a twist – much like mounting a camera lens. This makes the overall design particularly shock-resistant while rendering future maintenance simpler.
The handcrafted dial in the shade “Frosted Copper” is inspired by the Ore Mountains and their mineral resources, which are located deep underground. Mining was a tradition in and around Glashütte for centuries until the art of watchmaking replaced mining. A more recent tradition is the Panorama Date, which has been a trademark of many of our watches since 1997.
